Eloping in South Lake Tahoe | Amanda + Sean | September 20, 2025

On a beautiful sunny day in September, Amanda and Sean decided to elope in Southlake Tahoe to celebrate their love. It was a romantic tahoe wedding and I was honored to be their California wedding videographer. 

The couple possessed a quiet certainty about them, about their decision and about each other that was truly heartwarming. The day before it had rained and it was as if the weather too was on board and lighting up for this couple. I met Sean first as I made my way to his hotel room to gather shots of him getting ready. He had a strong stature but a gentleness in his hands and eyes. The first thing I thought when I met Amanda in person in a different hotel room was “wow, she is stunning!” She had piercing eyes and dark hair and a warm wisdom about her. The couple was beautifully matched. Amanda looking for steadiness and strength in a partner and Sean appreciating Amanda for her beauty and mind, quick to reassure her of how he would always be there. 

They had their first look on a small hill above the lapping waves of the South Shore and then we all headed out to mile marker 53 overlook for their ceremony. While it is certainly less expensive than having an entire venue, I did want to elaborate that they had to purchase a $500 permit and that that permit did not reserve the space for them, just allowed them to be there and just that in general it was hard to navigate that process. But it was incredibly beautiful and a popular location because there was another wedding ceremony scheduled slightly after ours. 

After the ceremony the photographer, Bria, of Kalaniphoto, and I took advantage of the beautiful location and took some family and couple photos then we headed to Jameson Beach where Sean and Amanda shared their first dance. There is a dock extending from the beach and the sunset with streaks of pink, orange and blue was magical and Sean dipped and twirled Amanda. What a beautiful day!
